An easily singable yet effectful setting of the well-known text "The souls of the just are in the hand of God" from the book of wisdom. There following three editions require an accompaniment by a chordal isntrument: the origanl edition based on the Esperanto translation by Ludvik Zamenhof, the German edition based on the tranlsations by Allioli and Luther, and the English edition based on the Douay-Rheims translation. The Latin edition, on the contrary, is meant to be sung a capella.
In the mass propers, the text is used as an offertorium on All Saints' Day, but it is also suitable for funerals. All editions include an English translation of the text.
