An easily singable yet effectful setting of the well-known text "The souls of the just are in the hand of God" from the book of wisdom. The original version is for SATB and an accompaniment by a chordal instrument and is based on the Esperanto translation by Ludvik Zamenhof. There are additional arrangements for two voices or women's or mens' choir in German (based on the tranlsations by Allioli and Luther) in English (based on the Douay-Rheims translation), and in Latin (based on the Vulgata). The Latin edition does not require an accompaniment, but is meant to be sung a capella.
In the mass propers, the text is used as an offertorium on All Saints' Day, but it is also suitable for funerals. All editions include an English translation of the text.
