A Simple Kyrie Acclamation (Christoph Dalitz, 1990)

A very simple Kyrie acclamation, where a melody sung by the cantor is answered in four parts. The four part response can be sung by the entire congregation. For this purpose, the musical setting is written in such a way that it sounds well even when a fraction of the men are singing the soprano melody.

An arrangement of this piece for four part barbershop ensemble has been made by Glenn O'Brian. This is a nice example of the benefits of the CC-BY-SA license: I myself would not have thought of such an arrangement.
