Ce mois de May (Robert Godard)
- Disposition: four part choir (SATB) and lute
- Composer: Robert Godard
- First Publication: before 1597
- Text: anonymous (16th century)
- License: Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike
The most reprinted chanson by Godard, about whom otherwise little is known. This edition is based on facsimile copies of two 16th century prints. I have added a lute part, that is based on an intavolation by Phalese (1568). See the notes at the end of the edition for details.

A complete facsimile reprint of the "Livre septieme des Chansons" published 1597 by Bellere in Antwerp is available at a low price from Dr. Bernd Christoph Becker, Cologne. Apart from the present chanson, this volume contains many other 16th century "hits", so it is a good choice if you are looking for only a single volume containing a decent selection of French chansons.
