Anglican Chant à 3 (Christoph Dalitz, 2023)

Anglican Chant is a way of singing psalms and canticles. It is very similar to Gregorian Chant psalm recitation because the same music is used for all verses and the text underlay follows the verse structure. The main difference is that Anglican Chant is harmonized and sung with multiple parts.

This setting is a "Double Chant", which means that odd and even verses are sung with different harmonizations. It deviates in two points from traditional Anglican Chant: It is written for three parts, whereas typical settings are for four parts, and the second part of the Doxology is slightly elaborated in imitatoric counterpoint.
